What You Gave Me
Silver bows and red barrettes,
Pretty dresses, stylish hats,
Blue bandanas, green hair bands,
This is what you gave me.
Big brown eyes and freckled cheeks,
Tall as sky and real big feet,
Dark brown hair and deeper voice,
This is what you gave me.
Blue eyed boys with light blonde hair,
Foot ball players, genius there,
Student Prez and class reject,
This is what you gave me.
Low self worth and horrid sadness,
Violent actions, wordy madness,
Fear of failure, quiet tears,
This is what you gave me.
Inner strength, combative nature,
Great resilience, now so sure
Never giving up the fight,
This is what you gave me.
